Carmela has worked in the medical field since 2007. Her career thus far has ranged from work within medical and surgical units in Las Vegas to ensuring the safety and education of patients in a local gastroenterology clinic.
By attaining her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from University of South Alabama, Carmela feels she has an increased opportunity to help her community by promoting health and wellness and alleviating patient suffering associated with ailment.
Carmela is excited to join Advanced Women's Health. Her goal is to treat every patient with respect while working to improve their quality of life. She individualizes patient care to encourage holistic health that encompasses physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Darla has been a registered nurse since 1979. She attended the University of Washington Nursing School and received her Master's Degree in Nursing from Pacific Lutheran University. She became Board Certified as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in 1998.
Darla's professional experience includes all aspects of adolescent and female health care. With 20 years experience in inpatient labor and delivery, mother-newborn and gynecologic surgery, Darla brings a special compassion and knowledge base to her patients. Her professional interests include adolescent health, menopausal midlife changes, and preventative care throughout the life span of women.
Darla strives to assure that each patient's individual needs are addressed and expectations are met.
Michelle has been a registered nurse since 1991. She graduated from the University of Washington School of nursing, and gained valuable experience in pediatrics, high-risk labor and delivery, mother-newborn care and gynecologic surgery prior to pursuing a new career path more suitable to her family life.
With a desire to provide compassionate care for women throughout the lifespan, Michelle pursued her master's degree in nursing from Pacific Lutheran University and became board certified as a women's health nurse practitioner in 1998. Melissa’s interest in acupuncture started while in Japan, after receiving treatment for a sports injury. Inspired by the incredible benefits toward pain relief and accelerated recovery, she went on to become the first Westerner to obtain a degree in Acupuncture & Moxibustion from Morinomiya College of Medical Arts & Science in Osaka, Japan. She is also the first non-Asian to sit for and pass the National Licensure Board in Japan. Melissa then treated patients in the university clinic as a Medical Resident-equivalent while assisting in the school’s research department. Returning to the United States, Melissa completed a Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine en route to her NCCAOM Board Certification
