Risa Halford - RNC, BSN, MSN, ARNP
Family Practice
/ PCP |
Risa attended the
University of Washington and received her Bachelor of
Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2004. She
then volunteered for the Peace Corps as a science
teacher in a small village in Burkina Faso. She loved
working with the nurses and midwives during her time
there, and knew she needed to pursue nursing as a
career. Upon returning, she worked as a gene expression
laboratory biologist for Rosetta Inpharmatics and
volunteered in the Swedish Cherry Hill Emergency
Department. She received her Masters of Science in
Nursing from Seattle University in 2010.
She enjoyed her internship at Lake Serene Clinic in
Lynnwood, where she was able to provide both primary
care and urgent care. Her passion for women’s health
made Advanced Women’s Health an ideal fit. She strives
to work with her patients to achieve healthy balance in
their lives and provide high-quality compassionate care.
|
|
She is very excited to be working with
the patients at Advanced Women’s Health and looks
forward to establishing patient-provider relationships
with mutual trust and respect. She is currently assisting with the authoring of
manuscripts on incorporating pharmacogenetics in primary
care. When not working, she enjoys training for half
marathons, hiking, traveling, cooking, dancing, yoga and
reading. |

establish the Neurogenomics Research Lab at the
University of Iowa. She returned to Washington with a
desire to have closer patient contact and to make a
positive difference in the lives of individuals. She
